CHINTAN SHIVIR: SHAPING THE 2040
ROAD MAP FOR INDIA’S GEMS & JEWELLERY SECTOR — COMMENCES ON A HIGH NOTE
The Chintan Shivir on the 2040 Roadmap for India’s Gems & Jewellery Sector has officially begun at Bharat Ratnam Mega CFC, SEEPZ, Mumbai, chaired by Shri Rajesh Agarwal, Hon’ble Commerce Secretary, Government of India.
The dialogue is bringing together senior government officials, policymakers and key industry voices to shape a clear, ambitious roadmap for the sector towards 2040.
Setting the tone for today’s dialogue, Shri Lav Agarwal, Director General, DGFT, emphasised the need for India’s gems and jewellery industry to move from commodity-led exports to value-added, globally recognised brands, while expanding the exporter base and adopting a mission-mode approach to achieve higher export growth.
